25hours Hotel Langstrasse
Esther Eppstein is known in the Zurich art scene for her 30 years of work with the art project ‘message salon’. She has received several awards for her artistic and curatorial practice, including the Grand Prix Meret Oppenheim 2021, the art prize of the Federal Office of Culture.
Like every summer, four international artists are invited to take part in a vibrant residency. They stay at the hotel and transform the Atelier into their personal studio space.
To wrap things up, Open Studio events offer a glimpse behind the scenes. Visitors are welcome to drop by, discover the artworks created during the residency, meet the artists, and enjoy cheesecake, snacks, and a glass of bubbly.

In collaboration with ‘ice cream project’, Zurich
Alexandra Karpilovski’s work blends raw emotion with poetic detail, creating immersive spaces through drawing, text, and installation. Her art invites introspection while playfully exploring identity, desire, and emotional chaos – like a permanent vacation for the mind.

Open Studio on Saturday, August 2nd, 4 – 7pm
In collaboration with Modern Animals Gallery, Zurich
Xinyu Han captures fleeting moments with a cinematic gaze — nighttime scenes, passing cars, and quiet glances become reflections on presence and existence. Her poetic imagery now continues its journey in Zurich, where the residency sparks new dialogues and discoveries.

Open Studio Saturday, August 16th, 4 –7 pm
In collaboration with Marina Belobrovaja, artist and filmmaker, Zurich
Andrii Nekraha and Alisa Pidverbna, two young artists from Kharkiv, channel their personal experiences of war and displacement into powerful, expressive paintings. The residency offers them a space to connect with Zurich’s art scene and take a brief but meaningful break from their everyday realities.

Open Studio on Saturday, August 30th, 4 – 7pm
In collaboration with message salon embassy, Zurich
Roy Menachem Markovich returns to Zurich with a residency that fuels his multimedia art through found objects — from cardboard to electronic scraps. His playful yet profound work reimagines urban leftovers into installations full of wit, memory, and raw creativity.
The invited artists in residence use the studio as their private workspace and, at the end of their stay, invite everyone to the Open Studio.
Steven Emmanuel has turned the artist’s studio in the hotel into his playground and performs philosophical gymnastics in small exercises…
