Christoph Hoffmann
Hotel proprietor — in Vienna as often as possible
Sport with a difference
Before I tuck into breakfast, I always go for a long early-morning jog through the nearby city centre of Vienna. It’s a good way to get to know the city and it whets your appetite for a leisurely stroll later on.
— There’s a jogging corner with towels, sweatbands, jogging routes and water to rehydrate you in the lobby.
Eating out Viennese style
I’ve got two favourite restaurants in Vienna. Both of them are a short bike ride from the hotel.
— Glacis Beisl. Right behind the museum district – has one of the nicest summer gardens and serves unpretentious, homely Austrian food at sensible prices.
Breite Gasse 4.
— NENI am Naschmarkt. May not serve Viennese cuisine, but it is almost unique in embodying the city’s cosmopolitan style. Eclectic menu inspired by Israel and its neighbouring countries.
Am Naschmarkt.
Tips for rainy days
Visit the museums in the museum district (just around the corner)!
— The Leopold Museum
— The art gallery Kunsthalle Wien
— The Mumok (museum of modern art)
— The architecture centre
These four museums offer a wide variety of exhibitions within walking distance of one another. Tickets are available from the hotel kiosk. Afterwards, I would warm up with a sauna or steam bath at the 25hours hotel and spend a dry evening at RIBELLI.
