To celebrate the work of Sebastian Becker, aka Tschief, and Hamburg-based artist Vigdis, whose art has been shaping our event space “The Gallery” over the past year, we’d love to invite you to a small exhibition. And to make the evening even more special, Tschief will be reading from his upcoming book Und es wird trotzdem wieder Sommer, ahead of its official release on 18 September 2026. Guest reader Tilmann Schanze will also be joining us for the evening.

About the book (quoted from rowohlt Verlag):
“When Sebastian Becker was 28, his father died. This loss was the great shock of his life. Afterwards: silence. Shock.
Since then, many things have been difficult for him, including talking about it. Sebastian searches for words and finds: memories. It is these memories, of bright and dark days, that restore his speech – and when Sebastian begins to tell of buckets full of sunflowers, of colourful socks, of green bananas, of paywalls before obituaries, of love and longing, his words are clear and radiant.
