In May 2025, Lars shot scenes for the crime drama “Die Polizistin und die Todesstille”, that he also wrote the screenplay for, at the 25hours Hotel The Goldman. We’ll dive deeper into what made him pick our house, his favourite locations in Frankfurt, and the evolution of the main character Gloria Acheampong, wonderfully played by Thelma Buabeng, since her first case in “Die Polizistin und die Sprache des Todes”.

Then we change location for “Es wird Steine regnen”: Terrapolis lies deep underground. A world without sunlight, a world without a future. A world where the dead are condemned to go on living. For former union leader and miner Dante Palazzo and ruthless military police officer Majid Ramzy, only one thing matters: escaping to the surface. Equipped with a serum that prevents them from suffocating above ground, the two men emerge in Berlin. While Palazzo desperately searches for his family, Ramzy leaves a bloody trail across the city. A race against time and the serum’s fading effect begins: A story of incredible reunions, heartbreaking and humorous, filled with relentless hatred and eternal love.

Lars Becker is a film director and screenwriter. He shot to fame as the director of “Kanak Attack” (based on the novel of the same name by Feridun Zaimoglu, with whom he co-wrote the screenplay). This was followed by the crime series “Nachtschicht”, featuring Detective Erichsen (Armin Rohde), and films such as “Der gute Bulle”, “Wahrheit oder Lüge”, and “Der Millionen Raub”, all of which garnered enthusiastic audiences and widespread acclaim. He has received the German TV Crime Thriller Award, the French Television Award, and the German Television Award for Best Director.

Lars is in town for the Frankfurt Book Fair, and we are thrilled to spend an evening discussing “Die Polizistin und die Todesstille” and “Es wird Steine ​​regnen” with him. Hotel guests are invited to join spontaneously without a ticket. Event language is German.

“Die Polizistin und die Todesstille” will be broadcast by German television station ZDF on Monday, 21. September 2026 at 8.15pm and available for streaming from the ZDF website from Saturday, 12 September 2026 through Monday, 11. September 2027.
