Food and drinks

I like the alternative scene. You do, too? Then head for les Halles. Bar, restaurant, market hall, wine store, bike store, all in one. Here, the food and drinks are picked up at the counter yourself. No space? No problem. Just sit on any free chair at a table. Perfect to feel Zurich and its people. My recommendation: Moules et frites. Large portion. If you like to get some fresh air, go to Frau Gerolds Garten. In winter time it’s a Christmas village, in summer a beautiful city garden. Also nearby is the city’s only wave, where you can watch surfers… and of course you can also jump into the waves.

— les Halles. Pfingstweidstrasse 6, 8005 Zürich
— Frau Gerolds Garten. Simple cuisine in pretty greenery. District 5, Geroldstrasse 23

Do not miss!

Zurich‘s west is known for its music! For a long time the place for underground and hip-hop, today you will find a variety of small and medium sized concert halls. In the nearby MAAG Halle you will find weekly changing gigs and shows.

Shop till you drop

Fed up with big labels? Pack your FREITAG bag and make your way to Viadukt. Fashion, independent labels bla bla.

— Viadukt. Limmatstrasse 231, 8005 Zürich

Dance baby

Hive I would call a piece of Berlin in Zurich, great DJ‘s, awesome parties. There‘s always something going on at Plaza, from karaoke to burlesque shows.

Beyond the city limits…

To really experience the gateway to the world, Zurich Airport, the best thing you can do is get in the saddle and go on an adventure tour. You can cycle around the airport in two to three hours. The 16-kilometer route runs along the airport grounds through one of the largest nature reserves in the canton. Directly above your heads, jets take off every two minutes.
