Head out into nature

Munich is a recreational paradise! Every spare minute that I have, I want to get out into nature with my family and friends. I love how accessible everything is in Munich and that corresponds to a high quality of life. The mountains are visible and within touching distance. Crystal-clear lakes invite people of all ages to swim and splash around in the water. My 3 favourite excursions are:

— A picnic at sunrise on the Olympiaberg and the mountain pasture.
— A cycling tour (with our hired bikes) to Munich’s Seven Summits
— The hike from the Spitzingsee lake via the Rotwandhaus and the Taubenstein

Sport and Action for Everyone

Munich is a sports-mad city and it offers a wide variety of opportunities to take part in sports or simply be a spectator. The Eisbach river is always popular with surfers but the Munich Half Marathon, the Triathlon, the Spartan Run and many more events encourage you to get involved.

Pop Up Yoga
Whether it’s in a museum, on a roof terrace, in a bedshop or in one of Munich’s many beautiful parks — Gina and Terry from Pop Up Yoga organise unique yogaevents and classes to discover, relax and have fun at the same time. Whether you’re a beginner or a professional yogi, everyone is welcome. All current planned events and further information can be found on their website at popupyogamuc.com.

Art and Culture

My insider’s tip is MUCA (the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art). Only a 15 minute walk from the 25hours hotel. It shows changing exhibitions from international stars of the urban contemporary artscene. The street art workshops are fantastic for kids! KUNSTLABOR 2 is also affiliated with MUCA. A comprehensive programme comprising guided tours, workshops, film festivals, concerts, readings and much more awaits you there.

Have a grand experience

— The municipal wholesale market hall (Städtische Großmarkthalle) The last of its kind in terms of German wholesale markets. In addition to freshness, variety and quality, it’s predominantly the charm and warmth of the traders that gives thismarket that extra something special.
— The cycling tour around the Chiemsee lake is oneof Bavaria’s most beautiful cycling routes. 59 km on our hired bikes are over far too soon there. It doesn’t take long to get there by train and on the route you’ll find picturesque bathing spots and numerous places where you can stop for a bite to eat.
