Christoph Hoffmann
Hotel maker — builds more than just castles in the sky
A question of beer
I love Munich because it has the English Garden, it is so close to the mountains, the dialect is so unique, Bavarians are marauding mountain folk with soul — and they have Augustiner beer here.
Sunday again
A summer bike* ride along the Isar to a beer garden. However, the larger Munich region also has a lot to offer. My favourite place by the water is in Ambach by Lake Starnberg. In winter, I prefer a long walk through the English Garden. Then it’s time for a good meal at the Bratwurstglöckl am Dom.
*Our Schindelhauer bikes, including the “Ratschkathl” or the “Wuide” can be hired from reception for your trip to the Isar.
— Bratwurstglöckl. Frauenplatz 9, 80331 Munich
Royal Tales
Tracing the roots of our hotel’s history by visiting Linderhof Palace is a must. I think it’s even more impressive than Neuschwanstein Castle. Linderhof was the favourite castle of the “Fairytale King” Ludwig II, and it was where he spent the vast majority of his time. You also shouldn’t miss out on a guided tour through the royal Residence with one of our art historians, Dr Sabine Friese Oertmann or Dr Ina Müller.

Food & Drink
There’s a lot on offer, but here are some of my favourites!
— Viktualienmarkt. Viktualienmarkt 3, 80331 Munich.
I love the well-stocked product range. At the back, you can find the best espresso in the city.
— Bar Tabacco. Hartmannstrasse 8, 80333 Munich.
It’s not actually a proper restaurant, but rather an old-school bar, taken straight from a picture book — with a small yet excellent menu.
— Bar Centrale. Ledererstrasse 23, 80331 Munich.
Here, you’ll get the chance to experience an original south-of-the-alps breakfast — Feels like Italy.
— Buffet Kull. Marienstrasse 4, 80331 Munich.
I am always excited to visit Rudi Kull’s restaurants, such as Buffet Kull.
— The Boilerman Bar — at the 25hours Hotel.
A classic, of course…
