Why Copenhagen?

I love Copenhagen for the diversity in so many levels. It feels like home but also unknown at the same time. I can always discover new and interesting things about Copenhagen when I want to.

What’s your favourite place in the city?

One of my favourite things on a Sunday in Copenhagen, is to walk the main shopping street when most shops are closed. But also, Skindergade represents a lot of the Copenhagen history. It is a treat if you are into historic architecture, to walk the side roads behind the main shopping streets. These streets hold buildings from 16th century and up to current age. Looking for a view? You can see the whole city from the tower at Christiansborg castle, where you also can enjoy lunch at the restaurant in the tower.

A hungry man is an angry man.

The Danes are very well-known for being foodies and having some of the best restaurants in the world, but if you are here for one of the Michelin stars restaurants, I expect that you already booked a table. Despite of that, here are some of my favourites:

— Mash
They also serve great wine and make some of the best drinks in town.
Bredgade 20, 1260 Copenhagen
— Madklubben Grill
You’re looking for good vibes and affordable prices? This is the place to go! And it’s just around the corner.
Pilestræde 23, 1112 Copenhagen
— Esmée
The restaurant to go if you’re planning a sophisticated dinner with someone special.
Kongens Nytorv 8, 1050 Copenhagen
— Nyhavnskroen
The owner’s name is Michael, don’t hesitate to ask for him and tell that Thomas send you I promise that he will give you an experience.
Nyhavn 47, 1051 Copenhagen

After dinner is before drinks.

The party is all over Copenhagen and you can easily jump from bar to bar. But the especially the street Gothersgade is filled with bars and night clubs where I have been partying a lot… maybe too much sometimes… A couple of calmer bars, that you would find me at, are:

— Trykbar
A lot of journalists are often seen at this bar after work. Trykbar is a brew bar, but there are as well a lot of wine bars in the same area, if this is preferred.
Møntergade 24, 1116 Copenhagen
— Brønnum
If you are more into great drinks and cocktails, then I would suggest this bar.
August Bournonvilles Passage 1, 1055 Copenhagen
