A piece of history
A trip to Hamburg should be more than just the harbour and the Alster because the city has so much more to offer. The Speicherstadt, the cluster of warehouses that makes up Hamburg’s top world cultural heritage site, is close to the 25hours Hotel. Explore it on foot or on one of our bicycles but don’t miss out on this fascinating area of Hamburg. There is something to discover everywhere; amazing views through and across the canals, the historic buildings conjure up a marvellous Hamburg atmosphere.
Best view
There are plenty of perspectives and angles to enjoy in Hamburg. For years, my favourite has been the view from the Elbstrand towards the port and Hamburg. The eye can take in plenty of magnificent views. Here you can experience the sounds of a port city close up. My favourite place for such a view: The Strandperle cafe
— Strandperle. Övelgönne 60, 22605 Hamburg.
Bad weather
Bad weather in Hamburg is pretty rare — you’re just wearing the wrong clothes! If it should be particularly bad though, I find the inner city is always the right place to be. You can wander from shopping centre to shopping centre barely getting your feet wet. Try a spot of people-watching or window shopping. When it rains, the city is never as busy and full as when it’s sunny.
