Oasis in the city
Not far from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Insel der Jugend (Island of Youth) can be found nestled between Treptower Park and Plänterwald Forest. My favourite thing to do in this green oasis on the River Spree is to have a picnic with family and friends. Simply grab a Schindelhauer bike from reception and you can get to the Insel der Jugend in around 45 minutes, via Kreuzberg.

Food & Drink
KINK is a fantastic place — lively, noisy, chic and laid-back — for me, it’s classic Berlin. I like to go here in the summer for dinner in the beautiful inner courtyard. But in the colder months too, it’s a cool mix of a restaurant and a bar and is my ultimate tip, whether you’re planning to eat or simply want to order drinks.

Breakfast
My favourite place to go for breakfast is Le Bon, a cosy and informal restaurant in Kreuzberg. You can’t book a table here, so you have to be prepared to be patient and put your name on the waiting list (and in the meantime you can order a cappuccino). Your patience will be rewarded with a magnificent breakfast.

Party animals
Electro and techno fans like me should check out the notorious Club Berghain, where legendary DJs guarantee a good party mood. A MUST in Berlin after a night out dancing: having breakfast while watching the sunrise by the Treptower Canal with a view of the Alexanderplatz.
