The Israeli artist Natalia Zourabova was invited by the Zurich-based artist Maria Pomiansky to roam through her beloved Zurich, drawing together.
The artists draw everywhere – they always have felt tips and paper to hand – whether it’s at the hotel, at the lido or on a trip to the nearby mountains. At the end of the residence, Natalia Zourabova and Maria Pomiansky will put a selection of the drawings and paintings which they created in Zurich on display in the studio.

Both painters are active members of the successful Israeli female artist group New Barbizon, which was established in Tel Aviv ten years ago. The New Barbizon painters were all born in the former Soviet Union and emigrated to Israel when they were young, which is where their paths crossed. New Barbizon is bringing the painter’s studio back into the public sphere and everyday life. The artists paint day-to-day life, friends, family, streets and scenes in the studio or on doorsteps in Tel Aviv, Haifa or Zurich.
