Goetheturm

Frankfurt’s only wooden high-rise.

Since 1867, this spot has held a public observation tower in honour of the city’s son Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It’s just 196 steps to the top, resulting in maybe the most panoramic skyline view available. Then turn around to watch the double chain of planes inbound for FRA, westerly wind provided. Wait, did we seriously say “just”?
