Speis & Trank

My all-time favourite restaurant in Zurich is Josef. You’ll not be able to say no to the many tempting, creative dishes on their wonderfully varied à la carte menu. Fantastic drinks are served to cool music at the bar, and I’ve personally met countless exciting people here. And the great thing is, you’ll still be let in at 3am…

When the weather’s cold

Either get your ice skates on and head for the Dolder ice rink and eat sausage and chips on the terrace of the ice rink restaurant, or take a long, relaxed walk along Lake Zurich, feed the ducks and sample a chestnut from every stand you pass. At Christmas time I love Neumarkt, where the most beautiful lights in the city shine out between the buildings around the old town — and when I stand by the Christmas tree I feel like a little girl again.

Art and culture lovers

Museum für Gestaltung: The museum puts on internationally renowned exhibitions and has been collecting posters, paintings and artistic artefacts from the world of everyday and discerning design culture since 1875. Any hungry travellers will soon be in their element in the attractive cafe while some great presents can be found in the museum shop.

Partytiger und steppende Bären

There’s something for everyone on Helvetiaplatz. Have your first drink at Volkshaus, move on to Xenix if the weather’s good, and enjoy a couple more drinks at Bar 3000.
