Child’s play

If you have children, a pedalo trip on Zurich Lake is a must during the summer. On miserable days, a visit to Zurich Zoo can save spirits being dampened. Marvelling at the elephants and flamingos, going for a walk with the penguins and taking a trip through the rainforest in Masoala Hall will keep the kids well entertained.

Art and culture lovers

The Löwenbräukunst-Areal, with its museums and galleries, is always worth a visit. Several institutions have come together to create an art oasis where diverse exhibitions offer unforgettable experiences for visitors of all ages.

Food and drink

When I’m in Zurich, I often treat myself to Spanish specialties at Casa Aurelio at least once a year—or as often as I can. I also enjoy spending time in the legendary Kronenhalle restaurant. Here, surrounded by works from artists like Chagall, Picasso, and Miró, you can indulge in dishes inspired by French cuisine as well as local favorites such as Zürcher Geschnetzeltes—delicate meat strips cooked Zurich style. Either before or after your meal, I highly recommend a visit to the Kronenhalle bar.

Zmörgele

Enjoy some delicious birchermuesli and the best coffee around at Café Schwarzenbach in Niederdorf. Gourmet lovers absolutely must test the cheesecake, which I personally feel is the best in the whole city!
