He creates ‘Studio Posters’, poetic slogans in black ink on white drawing paper - melancholically aggressive (self-)reflections and flashes of inspiration from the artist's everyday studio life. The ongoing series ‘A quiet sculptural proposition for something not yet understood but felt’ is extended on site by another object, a pencil-maltreated block of clay from the studio's material pool. Ad hoc sculptures made of stretcher frames, Post-it notes, ladders, adhesive tape and other useful materials from the artist's studio are precisely placed in the space and play with aesthetics, function and meaning. The artist's studio is a free place for a critical examination of the art business, making art, viewing art and exhibiting art. How does the artist feel, how does art feel? „Art Needs Love“. Steven Emmanuel and message salon embassy present the new fanzine „It's a good idea keep going“ in the Open Studio, with a selection from the Studio Posters series. Open Studio at the Atelier, Saturday 31 August In collaboration with Esther Eppstein, message salon embassy, Zurich In the hotel art collection: Steven Emmanuel „A quiet sculptural proposition for something not yet understood but felt“ Dried red clay, various pencils and coloured pencils, 2024
</oembed>
